Engineering Alumni Association
Mission Statement: The UCLA Engineering Alumni Association shall support the growth and enhance the reputation of the School, foster relationships between the School, its alumni and the community, provide programs and activities, encourage philanthropic support to the School, and serve as representative of alumni interests before the School’s leadership.
President’s Message
Welcome to the UCLA Engineering Alumni Association (EAA)! As UCLA Samueli School of Engineering alumni continue to engineer change around the world, EAA is dedicated to keeping you connected to your Bruin family.
Engineering alumni are automatically granted lifelong membership to this association. Members of EAA can build relationships with faculty, staff and university leadership; mentor and advise students; and access a network of professionals and like-minded Bruins. Examples of these opportunities include:
- Social Events and Networking – UCLA Basketball Game Watch Parties, Bruin Engineers Reunion
- Student Support – Club project review, Club mentorship, Scholarship review
- Outreach and Engagement – Speaker at industry panels, Engineering Open House
- Alumni Recognition – UCLA Samueli Awards Dinner, Award nominations
If you are interested in giving back to our alumni community, you can start by joining one of the EAA committees. Your voice and involvement will help steer the direction of alumni engagement. The EAA Committees are: Alumni Engagement, Awards, Industry Relations, Student Projects, Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Alumni Advisory, Tri-Org Alumni Advisory, and Membership and Nominating. EAA Committees
Each committee helps to cultivate an engaged community of alumni, faculty, current students and industry partners. The committees organize events, facilitate career advancement and encourage dialogue between alumni, faculty and industry. These initiatives bolster the positive impact and lasting legacy of UCLA’s engineering alumni, on campus and beyond.
If you are interested in joining an EAA committee, please email UCLAEAA@support.ucla.edu.
Alumni Engagement Committee: Develop activities and events that will allow alumni to maintain an active relationship with UCLA Samueli, with a special focus on topics of interest to recent graduates.
Industry Relations Committee: Develop activities and events where alumni interact with each other in on-site corporate environments.
Awards Committee: Solicit and advise on the nominations for UCLA Samueli awards.
Student Projects Committee: Review student project grant applications to receive support from the Alumni Fund for Student Projects.
Membership and Nominating Committee: Identify and meet the needs of the board and alumni. Orient new members and review performance of current members.
Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Alumni Advisory: Advise the UCLA chapter of the Society of Women Engineers and mentor students in the organization.
Tri-Org Alumni Advisory Committee: Advise the UCLA chapters of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society of Latinx Engineers and Scientists (SOLES), and the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES).
