9 UCLA Engineers Named to 2024 List of World’s Most Influential Researchers
Clarivate released Nov. 19 its list of 2024 Highly Cited Researchers, including nine faculty members affiliated with the UCLA Samueli School of Engineering.
Since 2002, the international data and analytics company has released an annual list of researchers who have demonstrated compelling and broad influence in their fields of study. The 2024 list includes more than 6,600 researchers representing just one one-thousandth of the global research community. International analytics firm Clarivate compiles the list through its Web of Science platform that provides reference and citation data from academic journals, conference proceedings and other documents. Each selected researcher has published multiple papers that ranked in the top 1% by peer citations during the previous decade. With some researchers making the list in multiple categories, 6,886 highly cited researcher awards were given this year.
The following UCLA Samueli-affiliated researchers are included in this year’s list:
Nasim Annabi, associate professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering
Jun Chen, associate professor of bioengineering
Bruce Dunn, distinguished professor of materials science and engineering, bioengineering and the Nippon Sheet Glass Company Chair in Materials Science
Yu Huang, professor of materials science and engineering and the Traugott and Dorothea Frederking Endowed Chair
Yuzhang Li, assistant professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering
Aydogan Ozcan, professor of electrical and computer engineering, bioengineering and the Volgenau Chair for Engineering Innovation
Yair Rivenson, assistant adjunct professor of electrical and computer engineering
Marc Suchard, professor of human genetics, biostatistics and computational medicine
Yang Yang, distinguished professor and chair of the Materials Science and Engineering Department, a joint faculty member in bioengineering, and the Carol and Lawrence E. Tannas Jr. Endowed Chair in Engineering
* Both Huang and Yang made the 2024 list in two categories, materials science and cross-field.
* The UCLA Computational Medicine Department is affiliated with both the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and UCLA Samueli.
