Launched in 2017, Women in Engineering at UCLA provides ongoing mentorship, leadership training, research opportunities and industry outreach programs to help students who plan to pursue careers in engineering. WE@UCLA, which is open to all UCLA Samueli students, received a $5 million gift in 2019 from alumna Stacey Nicholas (center) to support the initiative.

In recognition of International Women in Engineering Day, celebrated annually on June 23, UCLA Samueli honors the women students, faculty and alumni who are advancing discovery, driving technological breakthroughs and shaping the future of engineering. As UCLA Samueli continues to educate and empower the next generation of engineers, International Women in Engineering Day offers an opportunity to celebrate achievements, highlight inspiring stories and recognize the vital role women play in the field.
