The UCLA Samueli School of Engineering invites you to a special speaker series featuring Vint Cerf M.S. ’70, Ph.D. ’72 in conversation with Ron Sugar ’68, M.S. ’69, Ph.D. ’71. Join us as we learn about Vint Cerf’s journey from a Bruin to internet pioneer and Chief Internet Evangelist at Google.
Cerf is the co-designer of the Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol, or TCP/IP protocols, and the architecture of the internet. A former professor at Stanford University and member of the U.S. National Science Board, Cerf earned his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science at UCLA. He has received 31 honorary degrees and numerous awards, including the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom and the U.S. National Medal of Technology.
