Request from NASA to Cheer on Engineering Alumna’s Liftoff
 

NASA would like to invite UCLA students to send in videos cheering on UCLA Samueli School of Engineering alumna Megan McArthur as she launches to the International Space Station aboard the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft. The video may be used in the NASA TV launch broadcast currently scheduled for NET April 22.

To participate, students can send their video to joshua.santora@nasa.gov AND william.r.kallus@nasa.gov no later than Thursday, March 25 via e-mail.
 

IMPORTANT: The more closely you follow the requirements/guidance below, the more likely your video is to be used during the broadcast.

  • Videos MUST be horizontal/landscape and recorded from a laptop or cell phone on a stable surface—not handheld!
  • What to do:
    1. Record 5 seconds on the video before you start speaking (smile while you wait!).
    2. Share your personal message to the crew—10 seconds max.
    3. Cheer, clap, wave, celebrate, for AT LEAST 10 seconds. Bonus: enlist family members and pets to join you! (Examples: https://youtu.be/E_FIaPBOJgc?t=3550)
    4. Entire video must not exceed 40 seconds
