My laboratory focuses on using advanced brain mapping techniques to develop restorative neurosurgical interventions and to identify imaging biomarkers to monitor such interventions. Specific areas of research include: 1) Design of a population-based Parkinson?s Disease atlas to investigate morphological changes associated with this disease and possible targets for restorative therapies. 2) Developing and testing fMRI algorithms to individualize restorative interventions, such as fMRI maps to target Deep Brain Stimulation electrode placement 3) Mapping the functional reorganization of the brain after stroke to identify network level changes that are predictive of compensation and recovery and that can be targeted to enhance recovery 4) EEG and ECoG based brain-computer interface and real-time intraoperative mapping.
