
Van Schultz ’74, M.S. ’75
Van Schultz ’74, M.S. ’75 began his career in the petroleum industry working for Shell Oil in Ventura, Houston and New Orleans. He most recently served as the senior vice president, Strategic Development and Innovation, for Aera Energy LLC in Bakersfield, California. An alumnus of Triangle Fraternity, Van has remained involved at UCLA. He served on a variety of committees at UCLA Samueli, was president of EAA from 2004 to 2006 and the 2019 Bruin Engineers Reunion chair. Van also served on the UCLA Alumni Association board as president from 2010 to 2012, after participating on a number of committees since 2007. He served as the Alumni Regent on the UC Board of Regents from 2013-2014.
Van continues to dedicate his time and energy to the university as a member of the UCLA Chancellor’s Society and the Alumni Advisory Board for the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department. Van also holds a certificate degree from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
