Candler is an assistant professor in electrical engineering and leads the Sensors and Technology Laboratory. His research interests are in MEMS and NEMS devices, micro/nanoscale technology development, and the interface of physical microsystems with biology. Candler joined UCLA Engineering in 2008. He is a recipient of the Northrop Grumman Excellence in Teaching Award and an Army Research Office (ARO) Young Investigator Award.
Condie is a UCLA assistant professor in computer science. His research aims to provide appropriate data management toolkits for the data scientist (machine learning practitioners) to operate at scale. He is currently involved with developing a declarative language for big data analytics that targets machine learning and graph-based algorithms.
