Mona Jarrahi, associate professor of electrical engineering, was recently interviewed in the Huffington Post as part of an ongoing interview series from the West Asia Council highlighting prominent Iranian Americans making seminal contributions in their fields. Jarrahi, a recipient of several prestigious honors including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers, and the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation Inventor Fellowship, described her research in terahertz applications and possible applications in industrial quality control, medical diagnosis, atmospheric studies, space explorations, and security screening. She also discussed heracademic background and what lies ahead in the field.
