Jessie Fleming, a materials engineering major and environmental science minor who was a four-year starter on the UCLA Women’s Soccer Team, has started her professional career, signing with Chelsea FC Women. The club, which is based in London and plays in England’s Barclays FA Women’s Super League, announced her signing on July 22.
Fleming, who is from Ontario, Canada, plays at midfielder. She has made 77 appearances for the Canadian national team, including the 2015 and 2019 World Cups and at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero, where the team won a bronze medal. Her decorated UCLA career included two appearances in the NCAA College Cup, and several national and Pac-12 conference honors.
