Engineering Doctoral Student Named a Bloomberg Data Science Ph.D. Fellow

Bloomberg recently announced its 2020 Data Science Ph.D. Fellowship, awarding UCLA Computer Science doctoral student Difan Zou with financial and professional support to pursue his machine-learning research project over the course of degree completion.

Zou joined two other early-career researchers chosen by Bloomberg for its third class of this prestigious award. Zou is a graduate student in the UCLA Statistical Machine Learning Lab, which is part of the Department of Computer Science. His research focuses on scaling Graph Convolutional Networks, or GCNs.
