Dr. Eddie Shek is an entrepreneurial technologist with extensive hands-on experience leading full-cycle software product development, large-scale SaaS-based IIoT solution deployments, corporate IT operations, customer support, and consulting in fast-growth and dynamic environments.  He is currently Chief Strategy Officer of TrackX, a leading Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) enterprise software platform provider leveraging multiple auto-ID technologies for the comprehensive management of physical assets, for which he is a co-founder as well as founding Chief Technology Officer.

Prior to TrackX, Dr. Shek co-founded Fluensee, an innovative provider of RFID-enabled asset tracking, returnable asset management, and yard management software solutions both in SaaS model and as licensed products, as well as served as founding Chief Technology Officer of Vizional Technologies, a leading provider of supply chain event management, collaborative inventory planning, and RFID-enabled mobile asset management software.  He has also worked at HRL Laboratories where he led and managed advanced information technology research and development for Boeing, General Motors, Raytheon, and various government agencies.

Dr, Shek received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science from UCLA and his B.S. (summa cum laude) in Computer Science from Stony Brook University.

With a proven track record of leading the development of technology innovations in areas including Internet of Things, radio frequency identification (RFID), big data analytics, enterprise information integration, mobile computing, multimedia digital library, intelligent agents and network security, Dr. Shek is the author of over 25 refereed publications and the holder of 5 U.S. patents in RFID data management and wireless networking.

With a strong belief in the importance of education, Dr. Shek serves as a Governing Board Member and Executive Committee Member of UCLA Engineering Alumni Association, and a Member of Stony Brook University School of Engineering and Applied Science Dean’s Council.  Active in the Southern California technology community, he is also a Founding Member and Mentor of LA CTO Forum, and serves as a Steering Committee Member of Silicon Beach Fest.  Previously, he has been a Member of UCLA Extension Information Technology Advisory Board, and a Technology Board Member of MIT Auto-ID Center.
