Kawsar Vazifdar is a licensed Civil Engineer with Los Angeles County Public Works, working in the Environmental Programs Division where she focuses on solid waste policy and program development. She earned both her bachelor’s (2011) and master’s (2012) degrees in civil engineering from UCLA and is also a certified Envision Sustainability Professional.

Kawsar is an active member of the UCLA Engineering alumni community. She currently serves on the UCLA Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) Alumni Advisory Board, which has a mission to promote the communication, growth, and shared activities of CEE alumni, faculty, and students. Her contributions also include reviewing student presentations for alumni-funded initiatives, serving on a panel encouraging admitted M.S. and Ph.D. students to enroll at UCLA, and regularly representing Los Angeles County at UCLA American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and other career fairs to support students entering the workforce. She has also presented to the CEE 1: Civil Engineering and Infrastructure class, sharing insights on County projects and professional pathways for new civil engineers.
