Benjamin Baker ’10
Benjamin Baker, P.E., is the current chair of the UCLA Engineering Alumni Association (EAA) Awards Committee and serves on the Student Projects Committee.
He is currently a Senior Civil Project Engineer with GFT working on projects such as the Metro East San Fernando Valley Light Rail Corridor along Van Nuys Blvd. Previously, Benjamin was an assistant project manager with Walsh Group on Los Angeles County Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX Corridor K Line rail transit project, where he worked for over eight years. He has a Master’s of Science in Civil Engineering and Project Management from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UCLA. He is currently serving on the executive boards of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Los Angeles Section (as Secretary) and Metropolitan Los Angeles Branch (as Treasurer). He has been involved with ASCE since 2006, including as a former officer for the UCLA student chapter, which he has served as a Practitioner Advisor since 2015.
