This year’s event, which began in Royce Hall with a welcome from Dean Vijay K. Dhir, and Associate Dean Rick Wesel, was a huge success. Attendance for the event reached almost 2000, exceeding last year’s numbers, with 51 alumni volunteers from across the seven various academic departments.
Below, comments from attendees:
“I greatly enjoyed Bruin Day and Engineering Open House this weekend. I am pleased to inform you that I have made the right decision to attend UCLA for the upcoming fall quarter.”
“My son was really excited by the presentations he saw today and while he is a bit nervous about the rigorous demands of a tough engineering school, he now has a much clearer picture of how engineering works. As parents, we feel David is making the right decision in choosing UCLA.”
At Engineering Open House, families of potential incoming freshmen get an opportunity to tour the school, learn about the different departments, visit department and computer labs, and speak one-on-one with current students, faculty, staff and alumni. This is the day prospective students gather the essential information needed to make an informed decision about whether UCLA Engineering is the place for them.
