received a one-year, $920,000 grant from the National Science Foundation

Prof. Aydogan Ozcan, an associate director of the UCLA California

UCLA, opens up new opportunities for rapid microscopic imaging of large
sample areas, reducing the photon dose and phototoxicity on the sample

IN MEMORIAM
Professor Tatsuo Itoh, Pioneer of Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Electronics Tatsuo Itoh, a
distinguished professor of electrical and computer engineering at the
UCLA Samueli School of Engineering, died at home on March 4 at the age
of 80. He was the advisor to more than 80 Ph.D. graduates, including 60
at UCLA Samueli.
