Celebrating 100 Years, and Looking Toward the Future An inspirational light show spanning 10 decades of UCLA’s history kicked off our centennial
celebration this month. Distinguished Professor of Computer Science
Leonard Kleinrock, alumnus Vint Cerf, and Gaurav Sant, associate
professor of civil and environmental engineering, represented the
impactful research of UCLA Samueli.
We’re widening the adoption of bioinformatics with our online guide
Computer science postdoc Serghei Mangul and Lana Martin, program manager
of UCLA’s Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences, are
working to make bioinformatics training easily accessible.
We are pleased to announce that Chuck Lorre,
a champion of STEM education, philanthropist, and co-creator and
executive producer of “The Big Bang Theory,” “Two and a Half Men,” and
“Young Sheldon,” to name a few hits, will address this year’s graduating
class on June 15 at Pauley Pavilion.
