IN MEMORIAM: Professor Emeritus Chand R. Viswanathan
 
“Vis,” as he was known, was elected IEEE Fellow in 1981, and led research on the physics and technology of semiconductor devices. At UCLA, he reached the highest levels of academic leadership.
