distinction accorded solely to academic inventors.
‘Engineering in Action’ Program Highlights Water Equity Issues The UCLA Samueli
School of Engineering collaborated with the UCLA chapter of the National
Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) to host the Nov. 9 webinar focused on
water equity. Attended by more than 200 people from around the world,
the virtual event addressed issues of equity and justice in access to
clean water in Los Angeles.
Making the Most of Online Learning — an Audience with Internet Pioneers Amid the pandemic,
UCLA computer science professor George Varghese found a creative way to
enhance the undergraduate computer science networks course he taught in
the fall of 2020 with five 40-minute live Zoom interview sessions with
scientists who brought the internet to life, including UCLA
Distinguished Professor Leonard Kleinrock, who directed the transmission
of the first internet message from 3420 Boelter Hall to the Stanford
Research Institute.
