Dr. Kuo-Wan Lin
Dr. Kuo-Wan Lin is a development geophysicist with the USGS in Golden, Colorado. Lin is the lead developer and programmer for the ShakeCast System at the NEIC. He obtained his B.S. in Physics from Tamkang University in Taiwan, and both M.S. and Ph.D. in Geo-physics at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology. As a combined Geophysicist and programmer, Kuo-wan has a key combination of skills to make ShakeCast what it is and envision future science and technology needs. Kuo-wan is also the lead for user support and trouble-shooting, and he routinely responds to significant earthquakes with follow up information and explanations of ShakeMap and ShakeCast functionalitiy.
