Kenneth Hudnut, Ph.D. is a seismic expert for Southern California Edison (SCE) working to modernize the grid by identifying and analyzing seismic and related geohazards, and by leading their ongoing Seismic Resiliency Program. SCE is providing customers with increasingly reliable power by systematically strengthening its electric infrastructure. In August 2020, Dr. Hudnut began work at SCE in their Business Resiliency Department. Prior to that, he worked at U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), which included leading the HayWired Scenario and Science Application for Risk Reduction (SAFRR) project, as well as conducting research and leading airborne lidar projects (Ridgecrest, Kīlauea, B4, Hector Mine), GPS data (SCIGN), aerial & ground-based photos and field observations for six significant domestic earthquake sequences from 1987 through 2019, plus Haiti & Mexico in 2010, as a USGS earthquake scientist (1992–2020). He is also an Adjunct Professor, Civil & Environmental Engineering Department at University of California, Los Angeles and Visiting Associate in Geophysics at the California Institute of Technology.
